We have often heard the saying "I bought it sight unseen." Usually doing this can make us a bit anxious. In the case of buying scents, one might call it "smell unsmelled" and it can produce the same purchasing anxiety. I am going to try to relieve some of the angst for you.
Scentsy has 80 scents every 6 months (2 catalogs a year) They are broken down into groups: Favorites, Fall & Winter or Spring & Summer (depending on time of year), Corner Cafe', Scentsy Man, Romance, Spa, and Seven Seas.
Smelling is very individual, much like tasting. Therefore, picking scents is also individual. There are some, however, that the majority of people really love. These are a great place to start.
Favorites (pg 46 & 47 of Spring/Summer 2012catalog) is this place because these are scents that had been in other categories but because of their immense popularity, have lasted and have remained in favorites. Just as an FYI, my favorites in this category are:
My List of Favorites overall that I have not found a customer who hasn't loved are as follows (in approximate order) These are Fall/Winter smells since that is the season currently in.
