Bring Back My Bar

Okay, these are scents the company brought back for one month by popular demand.  I thought I ought to order some since they were obviously very popular.  I ordered Cinnamon Cider, Flower Shop, Mysterious, Pretty in Pink, Spiced Grapefruit, Spring Clean, and Twilight.  I love Cinnamon Cider, totally yum!  I also love Flower Shop, it really does smell like it says!  (Hubby thought it was too floral for him though)  Spring Clean is what I want my house to smell like (but rarely does).  Twilight smells like man soap, nice for a bathroom scent.  Mysterious is a  nice heavier scent.  Pretty in Pink is girlie, my daughter loves it.  In all of these, my favorite is Spiced Grapefruit  If I had to rank my choices it would go like this:  I thought I had ordered Amaretto, I will try to get that one too before the month is up.  Hope you enjoy yours! 

Happy New Year!

I am so excited about January's Warmer and Scent (Linger) of the month.  I love both!  This month I am running from now until January 20th a party entitled "Happy New Year!"  If you go on my website (www.msevcik.scentsy.us--also on the right of this page) you will see it listed under "parties" on the right hand side.  Here is the deal with this party.  Whoever places an order by January 20th will be entered in a drawing to win 2 free Scentsy Bars, one will be Linger, the scent of the month and the other will be a fun surprise!  The top purchaser will get this adorable warmer for half price! (or any other warmer of their choice)  The only catch is that you have to order under the party of Happy New Year to be eligible for this deal.  Also, local people can call me with orders which will likely be eligible for free shipping, but the party won't be closed until January 20th and so you won't get your order till some point after that.  

Also, this month Scentsy is doing something fun called Bring Back My Bar.  A while ago you may remember voting on your favorite retired bars.  For one month only (January) these bars are back.  I am excited because most of them are from before I was introduced to Scentsy, and since they are voted on, they will most likely be smells that are completely awesome.  I have already ordered a sampling to try out.  I will report back!

There was a time in my life (when I was single) that when I found something I loved, I would buy one for myself and one for my mom.  Christmas back then was no different.  Now, with a husband and four kids, I don't do that as much.  :-)  With Scentsy's Combine and Save, there is a plan that is perfect either way!

Loving Christmas Smells!

This year, for Christmas decorating, I got myself a Christmas Warmer...Bluster.  I love him and I am so glad I had the foresight get him early because apparently a lot of other people loved him too and he sold out early on.  (That rarely happens to me...foresight, that is!)  After much thought, I also purchased two bricks...yeah, the big mama's!   I chose Festival of Trees and Cozy Fireside.  Festival of Trees is in my two rooms with Christmas trees (one real, one artificial... but now you'd never know!)  and Cozy Fireside is in my kitchen.  I am loving it!  I also loved Snowberry and Whiteout and am melting them in my bathrooms. So now the trees are burning bright, the smells are wafting wonderfully in the air, the Christmas music is playing, and I am so happy I have completely ignored the fact that I have presents to buy and cards to get out!

I read somewhere that you really have to check yourself, if you are too busy and not enjoying Christmas and not able to focus on why we celebrate it to begin with, you are doing something wrong.  For so many years, I was so guilty of that. I have decided that each year I am going to take something off the list, whether it be minimizing gifts by buying one main gift for the family or reducing baking to 1 type of cookie (because really, I don't want to hate myself in January anyway).  Last year we did the one big gift for all, but this year I am taking baking off my list.  The only ones coming to my house are healthy eaters anyway so it makes sense.  I know it is just one thing, but you would be amazed how much it helps!  I feel so calm for December 5th!  (okay, maybe a little to calm, but I power up on last minute energy!)   

How to Change the Wax

Okay, When I got my first Scentsy Warmer, I expected the wax to dissipate--you know, the way wicked candles work.  When I did not observe the wax level going down, I got up the nerve to ask my neighbor whose party I had ordered from.  She told me that when it no longer smells, you can clean it out with a paper towel.  Now that I have moved beyond Scentsy novice, I change my scents daily.  I want to save the scents that are still good though.  (each use is about 60-80 hours)  So I made some VERY amateur videos to help out.

Video 1   FYI:  I laugh because it shows me changing the October Scent of the Month, Autumn Stroll.  When I smelled it in the box, I confess, I did not like it.  My smart husband suggested I just try warming it.  It took me a few weeks to actually listen, and when I did, I now love it.  It doesn't always work that way, but this one did.  The undertones are strong and it sticks in the room long after you have shut off your warmer.

Now, Here is Video 2 that shows how to remove wax and save for another use.  I didn't mention it in the video but you can just stick the hardened wax in a baggie and label it as if you are anything like me, you will forget, and even if it smells good, I like to know what I am warming.  I wouldn't combine other scents in the bag, but if I warmed the same scent throughout the house, I will stick the multiple "pallets" in one bag.

Julia Roberts has nothing to worry about, these videos will win no acclaim but hopefully they will be useful.:-)
